From Śrī Hari-bhakti-vilāsa:
srajaś canāva kaṛṣeta na vahirdhārayeta ca
gṛhe pārāvatā dhanyāh śukāśva sahasārikāḥ
One should not tear apart a flower garland, nor should one weat a garland anywhere other than around his neck. One should keep pigeons, as well as a male and female parrot at home because they are auspicious for the house. [Śrī Hari-bhakti-vilāsa 11.744]”
