Most revered Gurudev, Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj once wrote an email to Srimad B.A. Paramdvaiti Maharaj, in August 1999, when Param Pujyapad Srila Bhakti Promode Puri Goswami Maharaj was in the same condition, as Guru Maharaj is at present. The excerpts are:

“The preaching at Miami (USA) was very successful. The devotees were very enthusiastic. We were deprived of getting your company at Miami due to your prior heavy engagements.

Parampujyapad Shiksha Guru Srimad Bhakti Promode Puri Goswami Maharaj is playing the pastimes of being indisposed only for His causeless mercy to His servitors to give them scope to remember Him and to engage their senses for His service. Although it seems He is externally not active but internally He is always in contact with His object of worship.

If we sincerely want His Grace from the core of the heart, there cannot be any impediment.

As Supreme Lord is Omniscient, His dear devotees are also Omniscient. So as long as He (Srila Puri Goswami Maharaj) is playing the pastime of living in this world, we will always pray His Grace for the success of our holy endeavour to unite all Gaudiya Vaishnavas.

Infact it is by Their Grace we can see adjustment in all circumstances. I am an enslaved Jiva with many frailities and drawbacks. I can only pray the Grace of Guru-vaishnav and Bhagwan for giving us right guidance. You are more competent and sincere for your laudable attempt. By commonsense I can say there should be some programmes for the meeting of Vaishnavas of all groups occasionally. For this to bring them on one platform and give them scope to put their suggestions in the meetings and to print souvenirs where their writings or speeches will be printed.

If you have got any idea of bringing them together by any other way you can do it. I want to hear your suggestions. Kindly accept my Dandavat Pranams.

We are so so. We are returning to Calcutta tonight by British Airways flight. Hope this will find you all in good health and spirit.

Vaishnavadasanudas,
Bhakti Ballbh Tirtha (signed)
