WVA Meeting Report Gaura Purnima 2017

Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Jayateh,

Reverent Vaishnavas and Vaishnavis,
Please accept our dandavat pranams.

It is our great honor to write a brief report on the last Gaura Purnima meeting of the World Vaishnava Association. The meeting was held in the Samadhi Mandir of Srila B.P. Puri Goswami Maharaj at Gopinath Gaudiya Math (Mayapur). The meeting was one of the most successful yet, counting with the participation of approximately 200 devotees, Sannyasis, Math Leaders, and leaders of International projects. Representatives from approximately 30 different countries were present and all of them participated with great enthusiasm. The event also had the special presence and blessings from Srila B.V. Bharati Goswami Maharaj in the morning part of the meeting.

The World Vaishnava Association members were happy to announce that Sri Bagbazar Gaudiya Math (aka Gaudiya Mission) has joined the efforts of creating a more solid World Vaishnava Association. They are now official members of WVA, and have extended their successful “Chaitanya Mela” program as a platform for WVA members to spread the glories of Sri Gaura Hari. The leaders of the different Gaudiya Math branches were happy with initiative the Gaudiya Mission took.

During the meeting, the Senior Vaishnava Sannyasis from India shared their experience of traveling to western countries, they were happy to see how Mahaprabhu’s tree of divine love is growing and expanding in every town and village. More Senior Sannyasis from India will continue to travel to Europe, North America, and South America in the coming year. Their presence will offer the opportunity to celebrate the 100 year foundation of Sri Gaudiya Math, with the different Senior Sannyasis as the main representatives of the “100 Year Jubilee celebration of Gaudiya Math”.

Also different temple leaders from around the world have committed to the organization of “Chaitanya Melas” in their local towns, to serve as an expansion of the glories of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and our Guru-Varga.

Another extraordinary initiative taken is the publishing of a book honoring the divine life of Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur, whom is the main inspiration behind the efforts of the World Vaishnava Association.

The World Vaishnava Association also presented a report in their efforts and success on maintaining clean the sacred lands of Mayapur and Vrindavan. A special mention was giving to Srimati Prisni Devi Dasi, whom for many years has led the cleaning of Sri Mayapur Dham successfully. If you feel inspired to support the cleaning of Sri Mayapur and Vrindavan Dham’s, please send your donation to our paypal account.

The plans for the future Mela 2019 in Allahabad, were also announced at the meeting. One of the main initiatives is to invite the Adi-vasi leaders from South America for this special occasion and extent their commitment to the Vaishnava Sanga for the protection of Mother Earth. The Adi-vasis in South America have expressed their appreciation and admiration for the philosophy of Sri Chaitanya, especially on how the Vaishnava Philosophy honors and cares for Bhumi Matha, Ganga Ma, and Yamuna Ma. More details on this historic trip from the Andes Mountains to the Himalayan Mountains will be announced in the near future.

The next WVA meeting will be held in Puri, around the Ratha Yatra days–the exact date and program will be announced soon.

Yours in the service of Sri Guru, Gauranga and Vaishnavas,

The WVA News Team
