Sri Devananda Gaudiya Math affected by earthquake

by Arup Govinda das

The temple of Sri Devananda Gaudiya Math (Sri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti) in Navadvip Dham was damaged by the recent earthquake in Nepal. Cracks appeared in the building structure as well as in the temple crown. Also the samadhi mandir of Srila Bhakti Prajnan Keshava Maharaja and Srila Bhaktivedanta Vaman Maharaja are affected.

This is the first temple constructed by Srila Bhakti Prajnan Keshava Goswami Maharaja between 1938 and 1942. The temple structure was made by bricks only, since concrete was not used during these times for temple constructions.

The condition of Sri Sri Radha Vinod Bihari’s temple is most delicate, it may collapse any time.

The Secretary of Sree Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti, Srila Bhakti Vedanta Acharya Goswami Maharaj, is requesting the help of the devotees worldwide (Architects, Construction Engineers, etc.) to save the temple.
