GAUDIYA VAISHNAVISM AROUND RADHA-KUNDA
by our WVA correspondent in Radha-kund
It is quite noticeable over the last 10 years that many more Gaudiya Vaishnavas influenced by the line of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur are living around Radha-kunda and Govardhan. In Govinda-kunda a whole sannyasi community has settled around Madhusudhan das Babaji Maharaja. Most of them, like Bhakti Sarvasya Govinda Maharaja, are disciples of Srila Bhakti Vilas Tirtha Maharaja. Also Mahanidhi Swami, a highly respected author of many Vaishnava books has bought a piece of land next to the Radha-kunda. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness acquired a wonderful Radha-Krishna temple on the entrance of the Sangham of Radha-kunda and Shyama-kunda. Opposite to that temple, on the corner of the Jahnava baithak, Bhakti Swarup Damodar Goswami received as a donation the wonderful Gopal Mandir from the Royal Family of Manipur. The Malahari kunja, where Sri Krishna planted pearls, is now under the protection of the Gopinath Gaudiya Math. And there are so many other devotees establishing themselves in this area and in Gour-dham colony, which is a Sadhu-colony.

Nitai Das Adhikari, a famous psychologist from Sweden, who has his own University training up people to help those who are suffering from some addiction, and who also runs a clinic for the same purpose on an Island in North of Sweden, became attached to Lord Chaitanya and Radha-kunda, as he was hearing from Sadananda Swami the first western disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, and Vaman Das (Walter Eidlitz), the Austrian author of Unknown India, who had settled in Sweden after the second world war.

Nitai Das just purchased a piece of land on the entrance of the Radha-kunda area and is constructing there 12 bhajan kutirs for Sadhus who like to stay there for some time.
The Vishva Vaishnava Raj Sabha has a great job to accomplish, here in Radha-kunda on such a small place there are representatives of all the different branches of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Some of them having been antagonistic towards each other for many years. Gradually it seems that by the grace of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu many of these difficulties are becoming transcended. And as time progresses we pray that by the power of the holy name and the practical application of the real meaning of trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna amanina manadena kirtaniya sada harih more mercy will manifest for the Gaudiya Sampradaya and unity in diversity will be strengthened as the real sweet will of the Supreme Lord and all the pure devotees who have appeared in this family will manifest.
