Additional Goals & Activities of the Visva Vaisnava Raj Sabha During the reappearance of the Visva Vaisnava Raj Sabha in 1919, projects and activities were described according to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada's guidelines. Reports about this can be found back in Sarasvati Yaisri, as well as in the newspapers that covered the event. Today, a few additional ‘modern’ goals may be envisioned as they were proposed by different secretaries of the Sabha: 1.) Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada is responsible for helping millions of people around the world. Let us join together to request Bengal and Calcutta authorities to recognize this contribution to Bengal and to the world. For that purpose we need to meet and make a concrete action plan. One suggestion is to compile a list of achievements of all missions inspired by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada. Another suggestion is to compile a list of books published or inspired by him. And there are many more things we could do. We could for instance suggest to the authorities the following things:
Why do this? With all respect for Swami Vivekananda, he only brought back one lady to India, whereas Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada and his disciples brought thousands of people from all over the world to Mayapur Dham and Vrindavan Dham. He also brought uncountable financial benefits to India and the Dham. His disciples and ‘grand-disciples’ have permanent temples and centres where Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the transcendental revolutionary of Bengal, shows his ability to unite the whole world in love. Today his devotees lecture around the world and an unprecedented practice of Vaisnava culture is helping people to see one of India’s greatest glories. 2.) To clean the holy rivers and stop their pollution by untreated black waters (see: http://bvhalliance.org) 3.) To cooperate amongst all the Vaisnava Missions for common goals 4.) To do joint Dham Seva such as the cleaning of holy shrines and lakes, and to help to maintain the purity of the Dham 5.) To serve all the Brijbasis who feel separation from Sri Krishna 6.) To request all members to print the WVA logo on their publications and event banners 7.) To restore and protect the old temples related to the Six Goswami’s and also other important shrines 8.) To make and maintain the environment of Vrindavan attractive for pilgrims and other visitors (see: http://bvhalliance.org) 9.) To make sure that Parikrama roads have trees and surface suitable to walk barefoot 10.) To approach national and local administration for their help in the protection of the Vaisnava culture and other necessities such as electricity and clean water in the holy places 11.) To collect and reprint all sastra treasures of the Vedic tradition and to make new editions stored in digital format 12.) To promote Vedic arts by engaging our artists in newer versions of original art, and to share those artworks amongst all Vaisnava missions 13.) To share archives of all the photo treasures and sound or video files of our Guruvarga on the internet 14.) To distribute Sarasvati Jaya Sri’s message about Visva Vaisnava Raj Sabha (in Bengali and English pint-outs) to all members of Gaudiya Math, to remind them that organizing a plurality cooperation between different Vaisnava branches of the Gauranga Tree was Srila Jiva Goswami’s wish and not a new idea. Seeing that Vaisnavism has spread over the world in different countries and cultures, this need has increased a lot 15.) To explain to all that Visva Vaishnava Raj Sabha is the protective umbrella given by Mahaprabhu himself for guiding his mission into a successful future. This was obviously recognized by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada and all his disciples who yearly met one day after Gaur Purnima in the name of the Sabha at Sri Chaitanya Sarasvat Math; by Srila Bhakti Promod Puri Maharaj who became the first president of the World Vaisnava Association (the latest revival of the Visva Vaisnava Raj Sabha) and by the second president Srila Nayanananda das Babaji Maharaj and by the present President Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaj. It is noted with surprise that some devotees have not yet been informed about it or just didn't understand it's importance. If we come under that one umbrella, many things will easily be resolved and the glory of Srila Prabhupada will be even more highly appreciated 16.) To hold once a month a joint Nagar Sankirtan, with kirtaniyas and friends of all missions, in every location possible, especially places like Vrindavan, Calcutta and Mumbai. All can carry banners and distribute pamphlets, prasadam etc. 17.) To strive to organize a practical union with the other Sampradayas and Dharma organisations for the benefit of the world. To start putting into practice the ideas found on the website http://4sam.org 18.) To encourage member missions to actively participate in the Braj Vrindavan Heritage Alliance, to make Vrindavan clean & green, and to save the Yamuna River from calamities 19.) To make sure that Gaudiya Vaisnava’s participate in the Hindu Dharma Sabha organized by Dayananda Sarasvati 20.) To establish a Centre for Learning / University
