To date the following renovations at Sri Sri Radha Damodara Mandir at Seva Kunja in Vrindavana have been completed.
- The complete reconstruction of the temple kitchen.
- The renovation of the room dedicated to the Six Goswami’s, adjacent to the main altar of Sri Sri Radha Damodar Thakurji.
- The complete reconstruction of the Samadhi and Bhajan Kutir of Srila Rupa Goswami.
- The complete renovation of the sleeping room for Sri Sri Radha Damodara Thakurji.
In process now and almost complete is the laying of a new marble floor in the courtyard of Sri Sri Radha Damodara Thakurji.
On April 15, 2009 ground was broken by Sri Krishna Balarama Goswami Maharaja, His Holiness Bhakti SriRupa Madhava Maharaja and Sri Haridas Babaji Maharaja for Srila Rupa Goswami’s Kirtan Mandapa and Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta’s Swami Prabhupada’s Library. Srila Rupa Goswami’s Kirtan Mandapa will be a welcome relief for the thousands of pilgrims who visit the Samadhi and Bhajan Kutir of our Sampradaya Acharya Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhupada at Sri Radha Damodara Mandir. Now the devotees will be sheltered from the blistering sun in the hot season, the rain in the rainy season and the monkeys of Vrindavana who are famous for their mischief. This two storied structure will enhance the facilities for the devotees to have darshan, chant japa and engage in harinam sankirtan and Krishna Katha speeches in the courtyard of Srila Rupa Goswami. The ground floor Mandapa, clad in marble, will be open aired and will cover an area of 1500 square feet with dimensions of 26 feet by 56 feet. The Kirtan Mandapa will rest between the Samadhi and Bhajan Kutir of Srila Rupa Goswami. Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s Library will go on the second floor supported by 10 sandstone clad pillars and 7 super beams. This library will serve as a quiet place for the Vaishnavas to come and study the philosophy of Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. The library will contain all the written works of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Six Goswamis and all the heads of our sampradaya. This library goes in conjunction with Srila Prabhupada’s vision of a learning center at the Radha Damodara Mandir he coined, ‘The Rupanuga Para Vidya Pitha’. This learning center was originally instituted by our Tattva Acharya Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhupada but became lost over the course of time. This year 2009, marks the 50th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada taking residence at the Sri Radha Damodara Mandira. The place he called his eternal place of bhajan. Because it was the desire of Srila Prabhupada for such a learning center, it has been left to his followers to help fulfill his dream. All who have received the prasadam of Srila Prabhupada are invited to help with this wonderful project. With enough assistance from the Vaishnava community worldwide we hope to complete this phase of the Radha Damodara Development Project by the end of the year.
